Short Mountain Wind Energy Center
Short Mountain Wind Energy Center is an opportunity to boost the local economy of Hardy County and create jobs, all while generating clean, American made energy to meet the region's growing electricity demand.
The proposed project is located just northwest of Baker, with our point of interconnection being the existing Baker Substation.
At peak construction, Short Mountain Wind Energy Center is expected to employ as many as 150 people. After construction, the project will employ up to 4 additional permanent operations and maintenance (O&M) staff.
More than $7.9 million will be invested in local taxes, landowner payments, and wages and benefits.
